We comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), adhere to client confidentiality rules, and maintain and protect our staff and contractors' privacy.

In order to provide sound services to you, we need to collect and use your information.  We do so when you provide us with your personal details and instructions.

Generally, we do not collect or store 'sensitive information' as defined in the Privacy Act 1988 but if we do, we will obtain your consent prior to doing so.

We may also collect information about you from third parties in carrying out your matter.  For example, we may carry out searches of your property and/or companies from third party sources via InfoTrack during the conduct of your matter.

Purpose, use and disclosure of personal information

Primarily, we use or disclose your personal information in a fair and non-intrusive manner for the purpose we collected it in one or more of the following ways:

• In supplying quality products and services to you
• As required during the conduct of your matters
• During the conduct of business development activities and disclose such information to our related entities and services providers whose products and services may be of interests to you
• In general operation of our business including employing staff

We will only disclose your personal information for a secondary purpose with your consent, or as permitted by law.

Secure storage of Personal Information

We require all our staff and subcontracts to maintain strict confidentiality in all sensitive information that they have access to.

They are not allowed to copy, remove, or reproduce in any form without our consent and if necessary, your consent.

We implement administrative protocol and use various on- and off-site IT-related controls to restrict access to your personal information.

Access

We will only allow an individual to review your personal information provided that that individual does not infringe any legal and equitable obligation owed by us.

We will respond to your request within a reasonable period.
